Image
Today I decided we should make hand and foot prints :) What a glorious mess!! And funny...we did it outside on our patio...thank God for that insight!!! looks like she has smurf feet :) Wee Hudson hands :) the blue was a bit hard to get off...so we all had colored hands and feet for most of the day :) Momma had to have foot prints too :) Hudson is 10 weeks old now...wow. Time flies. His smile has EXPLODED!!! And he is starting to talk to us, in gurgles and coos. it is FABULOUS!!! :) What is this furry black thing???? Sweet smile :) Watching...something. Propped up in the high chair to he can be a part of the family :) God is good. Children are growing. We start preschool next month. Super excited. Savvy wants to play school every day. Glad that lots of our preschool will be play :)

PWPenne ala Betsy and Fried Chicken

Image
Ok so this blog is about food I wouldn't actually CHOOSE to make...on my own. I'm not so much a fan of shrimp, scum-sucking bottom dwellers that they are LOL...and I honestly don't think fried chicken tastes good enough to merit the calories :) But since we are cooking thru PW's cookbook, I will be making lots of things I wouldn't normally make. Like Burgundy mushrooms. Ew. But we will make them, and we will try them...but will make them on a night when we invite friends over who actually LIKE mushrooms :)  So these are the ingredients for Penne ala Betsy. Betsy is PW's little sister.  Shrimp, basil, parsley, onion, chicken stock, cream, tomatoes...that is pretty much all. Cooking...noodles and onions and spices... Making the yummmmmmy sauce... I don't usually cook with cream, but man, is it tasty!! And apparently I was having a cooking day b/c I decided to try my hand at Challah bread - b/c the picture in my cookbook looked so cool :) it was pretty tasty...

8 weeks of fun ...

August 12, 2011

Friday, August 12th, 2011 was a monumental day. Savanna Joy Johnson gave her heart to Jesus on this day. Heaven and our household rejoices! Papa and Grandma got her her very own Princess Bible - she LOVES it and even sleeps with it :) God is good. Just when I need to know He is working...He clearly shows me. Thankful.

Growing.

WOW. That's all I have to say. Hudson is GROWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is 7 weeks old now - where did the time go?? - and so alert now. Looking around, watching us with his eyes, responding when we talk to him, very much likes to be with people :), starting to gurgle a bit when we talk to him, and SMILING! Not a lot of smiles, but sweet wee grins occasionally. He is more serious - maybe he'll be our deep thinker :) He now weighs 12.2 lbs and is 24.5inches long. WHAT THE?? :) Here are some new pictures: "She's scaring me mom!!" Meeting Auntie Leslie and Julia :) love my auntie :) Papa re-finished the crib I slept in for Savvy then Wyatt - who chewed, or rather, knawed on it...so it need re-finished again. He did a great job and Huddy Buddy LOVES sleeping in it!! :) YAY PAPA!!!! Cason, Hudson's first friend :)

Paint and a boy.

Wyatt's new name is "Little Boy Blue." For the following reasons : Savvy asked me the other day, "mom, can we paint? Sure. no problem I think. So I am blissfully sitting on the couch, feeding Hudson, and all of the sudden I hear "WYATT!" Then nothing more. So I passed it off. Until Wyatt comes waltzing into the living room where I was, COVERED in paint. "Mom! we decided to paint ourselves!" Ha ha so funny. Well, he had - arms face, and the bottoms of his feet...which I thought was kind of strange. Really? The BOTTOMS of his feet?? How did he get to the couch w/o leaving blue paint behind him on the carpet??? I was about to find ou.t I walked into the kitchen  to see the entire bottle of blue paint on the floor -mostly in the grout, not on the tile. Now I have BIG tiles in my kitchen -you'd think the paint could've mostly hit a tile, instead of mostly on the grout :) Oh well.....So Savvy decides to be like her brother and paints hers
