PW Buttermilk Bisquits and Chicken Spaghetti

Image
Ok so let it be known, said and oatherwise affirmed that I am NOT a biscuit person. They are fine, and good, and such, but really, if I'm gonna spend the calories, give me an apple fritter or a delicious gooey roll w/ nuts... .... these biscuits are EASY and yummy. I love that. AND they easily pass the "Chuck" Standard. My sweet love, unlike myself, is an AVID biscuit LOVER. SO I've tried various kinds - and excel in the "pop open" canned kind - those are truly delicious...but these are some of the best homemade buttermilk biscuits I've made. Look they even got Golden BROWN :) Just like they are supposed to :) And of course, b/c I love my country boy, I made bacon and gravy from the bacon grease. PW would be proud. Funny, I used to LOVE biscuits and gravy when I was little and now...CONFESSION: well, they most of the time make me want to throw up. Weird I know, and its not even pregnancy induced. Just a change in my tummy. Random, and much to my lov

Easter and celebrating LIFE!!

HOORAY! for Easter and celebrating the Resurrection of JESUS!! We have had so much fun - we colored eggs twice - oh my the mess and the fun :) They both enjoyed it - Savvy the coloring, and  Wyatt the splashing :) We are going to eat them as bacon-filled deviled eggs :) YUM-O  He figured out how to peel the egg all by himself! HE took about 2 bites - and then decided the yolk was a GREAT ball :) Had to put the kabosh on that :) yummmy...i think :)  So our grass is a KY blue grass that hates Arizona weather :P so after a year of struggling and walking thru what feels like small hard sticks, my dad found some random grass plugs...you cut them up into 1" squares and plant them 6-12in apart and they are supposed to spread like a vine or some such thing. So this is my love and my dad planting the 1" squares :) We'll see how it works out. I'll post pictures in 3 weeks or so. I'm a tad skeptical....  Check out my garden!!! We have been eating lettuce and spi

Here are some pictures of our sweet new boy - 30 weeks 4/13/11.  He's starting to look a bit squished...  CHECK OUT THESE FEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness. I need to start investing in shoe stock now...with all 3 of our children and their feet :) Guess they come by it honestly :) I imagine him saying: "Ok, that's quite enough poking and proding. Leave me alone!" :) I think it is just turnabout for all the fidgeting and poking he does to his momma...he is a constant mover - very different from Wy and Sav. They were more sharp kickers...Hudson is more of a mover....all the time :) love love love this little guy! Only 9ish weeks left till we get to meet him! HOORAY!!!

This week has been a challenging one for various reasons...and I found this picture. God is FAITHFUL. Always :)  They are so much fun. We were on our way to church and just having FUN. Yesterday when we were out in the back yard a small white moth/butterfly type bug flew by - and oh my, did it create a scurrying of laughter, fun and wild jumps to catch it! The sheer simplicity of their joy in chasing a small bug was water to my soul :) Another pass time they've taken up is trying to catch any and all flies that somehow end up in the house. It is rather...HILARIOUS, b/c generally Daddy is in on the hunt too. Picture all 3 in the bay window area of the kitchen STALKING the bugs - and Savvy and Daddy actually CATCH them! EW! Much delight and Wyatt says "MORE BUGS!!" No, thanks, at least not in my house :)  OK so i Realize that when Savvy is 13 she won't appreciate this picture, but Chuck and I laughed so long and hard about this - she was reading the funnies while ju

HIking in the rain, bubbles and more...

So today the high was 56 and it rained most of the day...it was GLORIOUS, considering last week is twas 99degrees!!!So far in April we have used both the A/C and the heater :) Random for us. So anyways at 5pm a friend calls and says "Want to go hike the waterfall trail out at White Tanks?" (Those are the mtns right by our house) and we decided to go - even tho it was raining and cold...we just needed to get OUT of the house :) God BLESSED us with a GLORIOUS rainbow - it was spectacular - HUGE and lasted quite a loooooong time. :) YAY GOD!!    How in the world could he resist a small puddle? Or each and every puddle we walked by? :) He was very wet and very happy!! I love this girl. She cracks me up. Wouldn't smile so we decided to have a silly face instead :) Just liked this one :)  99 degrees and the water slide.... and 50 degrees and rainy. In a week :)  Patsy brought out bubbles for the kids...they love her so much. She is so so fun.  OH! Our garden is

Such fun...

Last night Chuck took me (well, all of us) out for my birthday dinner - as we walk into the Chinese restaurant, Savanna says, "Smell the Goodness!" :) She is fabulous! We planted sweet peas LAST Sept. They finally produced this week 4 wee little peas...we plucked the pod b/c the rest of the plants were dying. Weird. The peas were GOOD...pods not so much. But it was DELIGHTFUL to eat something out of our garden.  We recently went to a Cowboy birthday party - and both kids look so adorable in their cowboy hats :) Now we just all need boots...well Daddy has some, but the rest of us are still boot-less :) ha ha And these...these are the GORGEOUS sweet tangible evidence of my sweet husband's LOVE for me. He sent me TULIPS (my favorite flower!) on my birthday. He loves me. What a gift. Beyond words and beyond thankfulness!!
