Wild West FUN!!



Today we went to the Wild Western Festival with my parents, Auntie Leslie & Uncle James and Miss Patsy. it was very fun! We saw a horse do tricks - he could lay down and bow and wave his hoof....and then Savanna and Wyatt discovered the bounce houses. :) Needless to say that was the highlight of the adventure for them...Oh and the ice cream afterward. But they got their picture taken with Barney Fife - or his close relative :) and petted a horse. It was great! We also ran into some good friends of ours, so Savanna got to play with Colin. :) Another highlight! Auntie Leslie gave Savvy a pack of felt story boards with all kinds of figure on it...Hours of fun to be had YAY!! Thank God for Family!!

 YUM. That is all I have to say about these meatballs. I generally like meatballs, and these are SIMPLE, and have a step I've never heard of before....you actually flour and fry them before baking them. I know, seems ridiculous, I mean, who fries meatballs??? PW :) She got the recipe from a friend when she had just given birth to their 3rd child and was nursing...maybe that's why I like them so much!! Ha ha ...  Simple ingredients. Oatmeal, salt, pepper, milk, onion. And my beautiful helper. In this picture, she was making "soup" from food coloring and water...she was so so so excited for Daddy to wake up so that he could eat his soup too...we all had a bowl at lunch :) Someday she will be an amazing cook, I'm telling you! HOORAY! So then you chill them...to help them set up, I think.  Flour them, and fry them...apparently I didn't take a picture of that step. Use your imagination. Its pretty exciting. The sauce - so YUMMY. Probably what ensure they are...

Nebraska! Settling in....

And we really love it. I have meant to blog regularly....and hopefully we will get there. We had a GREAT trip here. 1200 miles and only one traffic jam that lasted 3.5 hours. In New Mexico. So random. But we arrived safely and are settled - for now.  The weather has been so amazing. RAIN. Clouds. NO 100+ degree days. Today is the first day of FALL and we are excited. After 14 years of NO Fall, we are rejoicing. 😃 It is looking like we might have our first freeze in a week or 2 - YIKES! We are all thrilled for all the comes with Fall and Winter. In March, when it is cold and wet and dreary, I will remember Arizona with more fondness LOL our Fall decor in the camper! Life has settled into a good rhythm. The kids are truly enjoying their new school. It actually amazes me how they have settled in and LOVE their school. Savanna is in 6th grade and just yesterday they had 6th Grade Outdoor Ed day--which means they spent the day at a local farm learning all about raising animal...

So I thought I'd post some fun videos of the kids. They are SO SO SO fun. In this 1st video Savanna is ROARING with Patsy, while sitting in the dog's water bowl :)  Fun times! The 2nd video is of Wyatt talking...it is from Sept. 2010 so it isn't totally updated with all his new words, but is super fun :)
